All Your Driving Lessons Questions Answered – Booking, Prices, and Test Tips

Getting Started

How do I book driving lessons?

You can book lessons by getting in touch through the contact form, phone, email, or WhatsApp. I’ll confirm availability and help you choose the right lesson type for your needs.

Please note: Payment must be transferred in advance to confirm your booking.

Yes, you must have a valid UK provisional driving licence before your first lesson.

No, you do not need to have passed your theory test to begin practical driving lessons. In fact, many learners find it helpful to start practical lessons early, as real-world experience can make the theory easier to understand. We can work on theory knowledge alongside your driving practice.

I cover Denton, Audenshaw, Openshaw, Ancoats, Clayton, Failsworth, Moston, Newton Heath, and Droylsden. If you’re nearby but unsure, just ask.

Lessons & Teaching Styles

How long is each driving lesson?

All lessons are 2 hours long – this gives you enough time to build skills and confidence in each session.

Absolutely. I specialise in learner drivers and tailor lessons to suit complete beginners, refreshers, and everyone in between.

Lessons are manual only, in a modern Ford Fiesta with dual controls for safety.

Yes. My teaching approach depends on the student—some want more practical time, others prefer theory focus. I adapt to your pace, goals, and confidence level.

Pricing & Payments

Do you offer pay-as-you-go-lessons?

Yes, I offer both pay-as-you-go lessons and discounted lesson packages. For full pricing information on all courses, including intensive courses and Pass Plus, please visit the Courses & Pricing page.

Payment is made via bank transfer in advance to secure your booking. Cash is not accepted.

Refunds are not usually offered, but unused pre-paid lessons may be transferable in certain circumstances.

Cancellations & Availability

What is your cancellation policy?

I require at least 48 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule a lesson. Late cancellations may still be charged.

Yes, subject to availability. These slots are popular, so booking in advance is recommended.

Driving Tests & Progress

How many lessons will I need before my test?

This varies by student. We’ll regularly review your progress to ensure you’re test-ready – never rushed.

Yes. Lessons include mock tests, test-route practice, and focused work on weaker areas.

Yes, provided you are test-ready and have had sufficient practice in the car beforehand.

Yes. To book and take your practical driving test, you must have already passed your theory test. Your theory test certificate is valid for two years, so you’ll need to pass your practical test within that time. I can help you structure your lessons so you’re ready for both.

Pass Plus & Advanced Driving

Do you offer Pass Plus?

Yes. Pass Plus is a 6-hour course designed for newly qualified drivers to gain extra confidence and skills. For details and pricing, please see my Courses & Pricing page.

Many drivers find it helpful for motorway, night, and adverse weather driving. Some insurers also offer discounts to Pass Plus holders.

Yes. I offer motorway lessons for learners and qualified drivers wanting to build motorway confidence. Visit Courses & Pricing for more information.
